Yes corporate magazines still suck and there is no greater proof than two things, this week’s show art and Rolling Stone magazine with their current list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of ALL TIME”. I did so much raving and ranting on the show that I completely forgot to mention that they bumped Glen Buxton off their list this time around after cracking the bottom 10 last time. I talk enough on this episode so cutting to the chase this is a short list of players that you will not find on the Rolling Stone BS list. In (dis)honor of the recent collaboration of Lou Reed and Metallica, I decided to play my favorite weird and random duets that (much like the aforementioned LouTallica) look horrible on paper but (much like the aforementioned LouTallica) actually don’t stink up the joint. I can’t recommend an album LESS than ‘Lulu’. It is offensive to all of the senses that human beings have and if you want to listen to a metal band that won’t let you down then look no further to the remaining ‘Big 4’ lineup of Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth. Lou Reed? yes I like ‘Transformer’ & ‘Berlin’ & ‘Rock & Roll’ but bottom line? you haven’t made anything great in my lifetime sir….end of story. Okay! I got that off my chest so now enjoy the show chock full of even weirder duets that will (hopefully) put a smile on your face enough to where you are compelled to buy.
